GENERAL MEETING

  • WHERE: Campbell Library Community Room (downstairs)

    • Our next member meeting is Tuesday, June 1st. We will be serving pizza from 6:30 to 7:00pm for our members to enjoy while socializing. The meeting kicks off promptly at 7:00pm when Dr. Andrew, the Superintendent of Campbell Elementary Schools will provide a “State of the District” update. At 7:30, we will demonstrate our new web property, designed to help build our community through sharing and communication.

    • Our topic will be emergency preparedness presented by DCNA member Bill Burns. He will discuss FEMA and USGS research on potential flood and earthquake damage in Campbell, how to make an emergency plan to keep your family safe if disaster strikes, and he will have sample emergency kits available locally for your inspection. There will be time for questions after his talk.

    • At this year's annual meeting we will be electing a new President, 2nd Vice President and Treasurer. Bring the ballot you received in the mail to vote. If you did not receive a ballot, we will have them available at the meeting. We will also review our budget and hold a brainstorming session to identify goals for 2010.

    • The topic for this meeting will be how to set up a Neighborhood Watch program. Our guest speaker will be from the Campbell Police Department. If you have been thinking about what it takes to set up a Neighborhood Watch program, you won't want to miss this night. In addition, we will also have a representative from the City Manager's office available to provide an update on the budget situation.

  • WHERE: Campbell Library Community Room (downstairs)

    • Our guest speaker is Susan Morgado-Grey who is the Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Campbell. She will explain her role in insuring that city ordinances including construction hours are followed by residents and contractors. If you have any questions about how the city operates this department and how you can help by being its eyes and ears, you will want to be at this meeting. There will be plenty of time for questions from the audience.

  • WHERE: Sonoma Chicken Coop (upstairs banquet room)

    • Our speaker will be Neil Collins, President of the Downtown Campbell Business Association (DCBA). Neil and other members of the DCBA executive board will be providing an overview of the DCBA and be available to take your questions.

    Doors open at 6:30pm. We will start promptly at 7:00pm.

    NOTE: Some members will be arriving early and ordering dinner.

    DCNA BEAUTIFICATION DAY

  • WHEN: Saturday, January 10, 2009, 10:00AM until???
  • WHERE: John D. Morgan park (Rincon Side)
  • WHO: The DCNA and your neighbors. This is an opportunity for current members to assist the City and beautify the park.
  • WHAT: All you have to do is show up - tools and direction will be provided by the City of Campbell. If you are interested in participating please contact us by January 8th so we can let the Park Supervisor know how many volunteers to expect.

    • DCNA HOLIDAY BRUNCH

  • WHEN: Sunday, December 7, 2008, 10:00AM until???
  • WHERE: Upstairs at the Chicken Coop
  • WHO: The DCNA and your neighbors. This is an opportunity for current members to socialize and bring your neighbors so they can see what a great group we are!
  • WHAT: Purchase your own meal and then bring it on upstairs. The association will provide coffee and tea. We are also asking everyone to bring an unwrapped toy to give to the SCCFD toy drive. For every toy you bring, you will get a ticket for special raffle gifts!

    • NOTE: If you are looking for a great gift for kids, please buy balls or books. The Santa Clara County Fire Department is in need of these things. Dolls, trucks and board games are some other suggestions. Thank you for helping kids in need.

    ANNUAL MEETING

    • At this year's annual meeting we will be electing a new Secretary and 1st Vice President. Bring the ballot you received in the mail to vote. If you did not receive a ballot, we will have them available at the meeting. We will also review our budget and hold a brainstorming session to identify goals for 2009.

    NOTE: As a courtesy to our guest speaker/s and members, please keep children at home.

    • This meeting will feature guest speaker Al Bito and other officials from the City of Campbell. They will be presenting an overview of the City's financial situation and asking for your feedback on strategies for maintaining our quality of life and on what programs and services are most important to you.

    NOTE: As a courtesy to our guest speaker/s and members, please keep children at home.

    • The agenda will include updates from the Executive Board and Committee chairs. Our guest speaker will be Captain David Deehan from the Campbell Police Department.

    ANNUAL MEETING

    • Paid members will be voting on whether to officially adopt the DCNA bylaws and whether to elect the first Executive Board. Following the vote, we will have a special guest speaker.
